What We Believe
Scripture
We believe the Bible is the word of God written through inspired and holy men. We believe the Bible is without error in its original manuscripts. We believe the entirety of the Bible, Old and New Testaments, points to the person and work of Christ. We believe everything in the Bible was written for our instruction and encouragement.
Trinity
We believe in one God who reveals Himself in three persons — the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. All three persons of the Trinity have eternally existed and have the same attributes, authority, and essence. The Father sends the Son, the Son loves and does the will of the Father, and the Holy Spirit points to the relationship between the Father and the Son.
Jesus Christ
God the Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to become a man — fully God and fully man. He lived a perfect life, died a death in our place, rose again victoriously, and ascended to the right hand of the Father.
Holy Spirit
We believe Jesus Christ sent the Holy Spirit to indwell His people and Church and to help them live holy lives and become more like Christ every day.
Man & Sin
We believe that humans were created in God’s image. God created man and women, who are physically different but are equal in worth and dignity. We believe all humans, except Jesus Christ, are spiritually dead because of sin. All humans are hopeless to be made spiritually alive apart from grace from God.
Salvation
We believe that, because of sin, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless they are born again by the Holy Spirit, not their own efforts. This salvation is only possible because of the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ who lived the life we could not and died the death we should have. We believe salvation is offered to anyone who believes in Jesus Christ and repents of their sin.
Justification
We believe that when a person is born again, they are made right before the Father through the perfection and righteousness of Jesus Christ. Believers may grow in maturity and understanding, but they will always be secure, accepted, and loved.
Sanctification
We believe that although a believer is now right with God, they still have a sinful nature to fight. We believe there is a progressive process that believers will become more and more like Christ throughout their lives. This process is only possible by the empowering of the Holy Spirit.
Church
We believe that all believers are a part of Christ’s bride, the Church. A believer’s membership in this universal church is secure through Christ’s sacrifice. We believe that God calls us to participate in a local church with other members of Christ’s universal church. We believe that all members of the Church have gifts and value and are united in awaiting Christ’s return.
Glorification
We believe that after Christ’s return, all believers will be made blameless and will receive perfected bodies. We believe there will be no sin, pain, or suffering, but we will spend eternity in God’s presence enjoying Him forever.
